Winning entry for the 2011 D&AD Student Award Typography brief. The brief, set by Microsoft:
Create a typographical manifesto for Windows Phone 7.

The Idea

Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev first invented the periodic table in 1869. The table lists the individual elemental components that, together, construct the physical world around us. Its iconic typographic structure forms what is essentially a manifesto of our entire universe.

The Windows Phone 7 periodic table plays with this idea by ascribing each of the original elemental initials to a word associated with the new Windows Phone 7 experience. Together, the words create a manifesto which describes the Metro universe, and gives phone users a fresh understanding of the Windows Phone 7 experience.
